I'm not sure what changes / additions were made in either updates or as part of the DLC that would cause me to need to update my BIOS. My previous BIOS was the same one I had when the game first released and the game ran near perfect back then. I honestly can't understand WHY it fixed the problem though. In fact I no longer even have to set "dynamic shadows" to "false" anymore. Nothing else I did worked or even made a noticeable improvment. If your issues were similar to mine, maybe even if they aren't. I updated my BIOS to the latest non-beta version and the game runs just as amazing as it did when it first released. Now I have enough time to study them I could make a copy out of clay if I wanted to.ĭoes this sound similar to the issue you're having at all? When I first played the game I used to be lucky to get a glimpse of the gun model rotating before I was loaded. The game loading screens (changing zones, loading a character, quitting, etc.) take anywhere from 1 to 5 minutes now. in the past I used to have intense gunfights through these zones and never even notice aside from perhaps a glimpse of the saving icon in the top. If I pass a save / checkpoint the game will freeze for about 15 seconds to 1 minute. If the vehicle gets destroyed I get to enjoy a screenshot of it near death for about 15 seconds before finding myself out of the vehicle and at half health. If I'm in a vehicle and it reaches critcal damage and goes to play the warning sound. If I call up a vehicle terminal the vehicle models on the right load up as solid grey models without any texture and then after a long pause the texture loads. If I call up any game menus like the map or inventory there is about a 2 to 10 second freeze and then it chops its way up. At times switching a weapon will freeze for a couple seconds, calling up a scope will freeze, looking at an item on the ground and having the stats display freezes, opening a chest, killing something and having loot fly out, etc. However, anytime there is any change of the games "state" or anything has to "load" the game becomes a screenshot for awhile. I can run around, jump, shoot, and such just fine! No stuttering or slowdowns. Anytime Claptrap says a funny line everything will freeze, the line of dialogue will start to play, and then about half way through the dialogue the game will chop back into moving again.ĭuring gameplay its just as bad. Switching characters can take about a minute or more. The menu screen even has poor performance. It takes about 2 minutes after the intro to find the DLC content and load the character / menu screen. The game takes anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes to load into the intro videos after clicking play on the launcher. It is now completely unplayable even with the graphics dropped to crap and the dynamic shadows turned off.
Now with this free weekend and sale I bought the last DLC, the vault hunter 2 one, and re-installed the game. Changing that setting made the game look worse than it used to but run fine. but nto enjoyable due tot he random stutters. I had to edit the config file and change "dynamic shadows" from true to false or else the game was playable. I have it installed on an SSD and my computer has no performance issues running other games.Īfter I bought and installed the season pass content about a year ago my game had a bunch of stuttering issues and slow downs the longer I played. I bought it just after release and beat it fully with three characters and no issues.
I also used to have this game run near perfectly.
